Step #2: Metadata

In order to submit content to FeedNPlay, you will need to produce a metadata file using this page. The metadata file will contain the information about your content necessary for its display on FeedNPlay.

Read carefully the description of each field when filling out the form presented below. If you have any questions, just let us know and we’ll be happy to help.

Any change to the metadata file should be made using this editor (please do not change the file manually). You can import an existing metadata file by using the option below. This option will overwrite the information currently contained on the form.

Information

  • Enter the title of the content.
  • No linebreaks allowed.
  • Max length: 75 characters
  • Enter the year(s) in which the content was created.
  • Allowed formats: YYYY (specific year), YYYY-YYYY (period of years) or YYYY- (ongoing project)
  • Enter the name(s) and email(s) of the author(s) of the content.
  • Separate multiple authors with semicolons (;).
  • Allowed format: Forename Surname <email>
  • Example: Tiago Martins <tiago@mail.pt>; João Cunha <joao@mail.pt>
  • Use institutional emails whenever possible.
  • Enter a short description of the content.
  • No linebreaks allowed (enter a single paragraph).
  • Max length: 750 characters
  • Enter the tags that best rank the content on one or more particular topics, types of process and/or techniques.
  • Separate multiple tags with semicolons (;).
  • Allowed format: tag 1; tag 2; tag 3
  • Number of tags required: between 2 and 8
  • See the list of tags stored in the system to avoid the creation of identical tags.
  • Please don't insert names of tools, programming languages or plugins as tags. Insert these instead in the next attribute.
  • Enter the names of the tools used to create the content.
  • Separate multiple tools with semicolons (;).
  • Allowed format: tool 1; tool 2; tool 3
  • Number of tools required: between 2 and 8
  • See the list of tools stored in the system to avoid the creation of identical entries.
  • Enter a URL to a webpage with more information about the content.
  • Make sure the URL is a permanent/durable link.
  • Note to videos: at the moment FeedNPlay does not have speakers or any other audio output device. We suggest that you use this field to point to a website hosting the video (e.g. Vimeo).

Context

This content was created within the context of:
  • Enter the faculty or school where the content was created.
  • Example: FCTUC
  • Enter the course/program in which the content was created.
  • Examples: LDM, MDM, LEI, PDCTI
  • Enter the curricular unit in which the content was created.
  • Example: Tipografia em Meios Digitais
  • Enter the academic year in which the content was created.
  • Allowed format: YYYY-YYYY
  • Enter the name(s) and email(s) of the mentor(s) who supervised the development of the content. Normally, these are the professors of the curricular unit classes.
  • Separate multiple mentors with semicolons (;).
  • Allowed format: Forename Surname <email>
  • Example: Tiago Martins <tiago@mail.pt>; João Cunha <joao@mail.pt>
  • Use institutional emails whenever possible.
  • Enter the affiliation of the author(s).
  • Example: CMS/CISUC, ECOS/CISUC
  • Enter the title of the open call.
  • Example: PCD@Coimbra 2022
  • Enter a short description of the context in which the content was created.
  • Example: Project created in the workshop Evolving Harmonographs, in March 2022

Content

Select the type of your content:
  • Enter the filename (with extension) of the image that best represents the content.
  • This representative image is one of the images that comprise the content. Therefore, this attribute is only applicable for content that comprises more than one image.
  • If no representative image is specified, the first image (alphabetically) will be used.
  • Enter captions for the image(s).
  • Separate captions with semicolons (;).
  • Allowed format: [filename] One caption; [filename] Another caption
  • Optionally, you can set a default caption for all images by including: [*] General caption (specific captions prevail over a general caption)
  • If no caption is provided, the content title will be used as caption.
  • Enter the time of the video to create the thumbnail image.
  • Allowed formats: mm:ss (minute, second) or mm:ss.ff (minute, second, frame)
  • If not specified, the frame that is in the middle of the video will be used as a thumbnail.

Moderator︎

  • 3-letter code picked by the moderator to identify this content.
  • Please verify that the letters' sequence does not have a (negative) meaning.
  • Notes added by the moderator.
  • Do not remove existing notes. Instead, add new notes at the end.
  • Add a prefix to the note line containing the date and the DEI user inside square brackets.

Export
